Integrative thinking and immersive learning opportunities
Wilfrid Laurier’s MBA graduate success stories paint a picture of an institution at the forefront of superior learning methods. Students are taught all eight of the fundamental business courses in a seamless holistic delivery style that reflects exactly how the real world works – the integrated core. Joshua Siegel, Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness at Real Matters sums up the feeling of many of Laurier MBA’s prestigious alumni when he says, “After spending 12 months in the Laurier MBA, I really walked away knowing who I am and what I am truly capable of.” It is no surprise that Laurier has been consistently rated highly in magazine rankings in terms of reputation, quality, innovation, and leaders of tomorrow. Furthermore LinkedIn published their first ever university rankings, that was based on career outcomes of graduates, and Laurier was named the second best school for marketers and investment bankers, fourth for finance professionals and sixth for accounting professionals.
Always at the forefront of the changing field of business education, Laurier MBA was the first Canadian Professional Business School to offer a one year MBA degree. Furthermore, the MBA with Co-op program is one of few schools to offer the chance to gain real-work experience while studying. For the working professionals, Laurier MBA offers a part-time program in Downtown Toronto with opportunities to gain professional designations such as the CPA and CFA and double degrees like the MBA with Master of Finance.
From start-up to success
A key aim of Laurier MBA’s overall mission is to ensure that the professional skills acquired are immediately put into practice through initiatives such as the Launchpad program; a startup process that allows student to develop their new business while earning their MBA. Understanding that students should be mentored by academics with a firm investment in professional practice, many of the lecturers and a great number of guest speakers are key figures in their respective fields.
The Laurier MBA has two campuses; the first is located in Waterloo, Ontario, at the heart of the technology and entrepreneurial hub known as Canada’s Technology Triangle. Students will find themselves nestled in a vibrant community with industrial and software giants Google, Blackberry, and Microsoft. And with quick and easy access to Toronto International airport, international students will never feel far from home. The second campus is located in the heart of Toronto’s down-town financial district where a part-time weekend MBA is offered.
