The School of Business at Southern Utah University (SUU) aims to offer students a quality education and a superior classroom experience, preparing them for the many challenges they will face in the global business world. The School’s focus is on creating an environment where faculty and staff emphasize personalized learning, student engagement and integrity. The accredited degrees on offer are extremely attractive to employers, which explains why 94% of business school graduates find professional job placements in industry.

Multiple degree options

The School of Business offers a broad range of accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees. The undergraduate programs include four-year bachelor degrees in:

Graduate programs include the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA). The MAcc provides high-quality accounting education through teaching, research and service. The program is designed to prepare students for professional accounting careers in taxation, auditing and controllership, etc.

The MBA program aims to produce capable business leaders who have the necessary knowledge and skills to make high-quality business decisions in either an entrepreneurial or staff capacity. Through a process of active learning, graduates become confident leaders who can think critically and can translate business theory into practice in an ethically and socially responsible manner.

Internationally accreditated programs

As well as being nationally accredited, many of the courses on offer at the SUU School of Business have international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. AACSB International accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in management education, confirming that the school is able to: manage resources to achieve a vibrant and relevant mission; advance business and management knowledge through faculty scholarship; provide high-caliber teaching of quality and current curricula; cultivate meaningful interaction between students and a qualified faculty; and produce graduates who have achieved specified learning goals.

Opportunities for overseas study

The School of Business encourages students to develop a global perspective by studying outside the US. They have developed overseas partnerships to give students an enriched educational and cultural experience. Professional firms are increasingly looking to hire graduates who have an understanding of international practices and relations. The School has found that international study strengthens students’ resumes and provides experiences that allow them to become autonomous, socially developed and capable employees.

A vibrant campus community

While SUU is dedicated to promoting academic excellence, they are also committed to ensuring that students have an unforgettable student experience. The university offers more than 250 free student activities each year, ranging from clubs to concerts, from camping to cross-country skiing. As more than 90% of students live on campus or within walking distance, there is always a buzzing atmosphere and plenty of activities to keep students entertained. In 2014, 4,000 SUU students, over half of the student body, joined one of the 160 clubs on offer. The SUU School of Business is also within easy reach of some of America’s most popular attractions, including the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
