As if Donald Trump hasn’t caused enough of an uproar around Latin America in the past few weeks, the US Republican candidate has entered into a tweeting war with escaped Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman.
While some say that the Twitter account @ElChap0Guzman is indeed that of the escaped drug lord, other claim it belongs to his son. Regardless, Trump has since contacted the FBI, Clarín reported.
Mexico’s biggest drug lord escapes from jail. Unbelievable corruption and USA is paying the price. I told you so!

“You messed with me, now I’m coming for you,” Guzman tweeted in response.
Trump later tweeted

“The FBI is fully aware of the situation and is actively investigating this threat against Mr. Trump,” campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks told the Miami Herald. For now, Guzmán has amassed a staggering 465,000 Twitter followers, while Trump has also done well from the online tweet battle. Still, “El Chapo” might not be so pleased with the $3.8 million bounty on his head, ranking him only the 59th-most-wanted in the world.
