Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is ranked as one of the top 1% of business schools in the world. It is the leading full-spectrum business / management school in the UK as it is the only UK business school to be ranked so highly across all major activities. LUMS is proud to be recognised with triple accreditation, with three of the most influential business school accreditation bodies (AACSB, EQUIS and the Association of MBAs) approving the quality of the teaching & programmes provided by the School.

LUMS consists of eight world-leading academic departments and ten research centres, with 230 academic staff, including 68 professors, 113 professional and administrative staff, and a student body of around 4,000. The School offers leading programmes at undergraduate, Masters and PhD level.

World-class MBA Programme

The Lancaster MBA has been ranked 12th in the world and 6th in the UK by Forbes magazine, as well as Top 10 in the UK and Top 50 worldwide by the Financial Times. The Financial Times also rates the MBA 1st in the world for ‘Corporate Strategy’ and 1st in the UK & Europe for ‘Aims Achieved’ (Financial Times Global MBA 2015). The programme aims to turn students into strategic leaders, who are confident and capable for the next step of their careers. The MBA equips students with the necessary language, tools, and techniques of business management to enable them to be successful professionals, as well as developing practical wisdom in an international business context.

Emphasis is placed on Learning Through Action, where students get the opportunity to work on practical real-world experiences, to prepare them for real business challenges. Students are also encouraged to develop their business judgement and decision-making ability through the unique Mindful Manager module, which focuses on building the “attitudes of mind” that are required to be highly effective at senior levels in business.

Students graduate from the MBA work-ready and highly skilled professionals, aided by the Career Advancement Programme that helps students assess their values, skills and interests in order to improve their career prospects.

The world-class Lancaster MBA programme is taught by internationally respected faculty and experienced business practitioners. Class sizes are kept small to facilitate learning and close contact with faculty. The majority of the course is taught on the beautiful parkland campus in Lancaster, however students can also benefit from 10 weeks of studying in London, experiencing an exciting blend of learning environments to enhance their studies.
