A parked vehicle was found in Paraguay on Sunday, carrying 413 kilos of marijuana.
The Toyota TownAce minivan was used by a couple who stayed at El Sol (The Sun), a motel in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.
According to motel owner Walter Moreira Gomez, the couple arrived on Saturday onboard the van and stayed overnight, but did not check out. After realizing that the couple did not go out in the morning, motel staff checked their room but found the guests gone.
Gomez then alerted the police.
Local police found a total of 11 tightly-packed cardboard boxes inside the van with the plate number CAC 670. The anti narcotics unit arrived with prosecutor Elvio Aguilera who confirmed that the boxes indeed contained marijuana.
The van reportedly has mechanical problems, prompting the two alleged drug traffickers to leave it and its contents.
