Latin America has successful stint at the Golden Globes

Latin American actors and directors had a successful evening at the 2016 Golden Globe awards last night, recognizing the best of 2015’s cinema and television releases.

Mexican actor Gael García Bernal was awarded best performance for his role in the series “Mozart in the Jungle”, in which he plays a zany orchestra conductor. Bernal dedicated his award to “music”. The show was also awarded best comedy series.

Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu won Best Director for the motion picture drama “The Revenant”. The director was also an Academy Award for Best Director for the movie “Birdman” last year.

Guatemala’s Oscar Isaac was also awarded for his role in the series “Show me a Hero”.

This was the 73rd edition of the ceremony.
